Happy Birthday To Us!

We’re in the middle of Fringer birthday week.

I turned another year older and wiser on September 22nd. D. Jr. hit the big 01 on the 23rd. D. Sr. gets to celebrate yet another year on the 29th.

We had a small party on Saturday for D. Jr. where gifts were heaped upon him in an embarrassing and excessive fashion. I can only imagine what future birthdays - where he’s actually aware of what’s happening - will be like.

According to a birthday horoscopes site the Interweb:

September 22 - You have the most unusual intellectual approach to things. Very different. This is because you are ruled by the mixed vibrations of Mercury and Uranus. Unless you can find a practical outlet for your zillion watts of nervous energy, you could go up in smoke. It is absolutely essential for that power to be directed in a well defined form otherwise you run the risk of forever contemplating ideas without ever getting anything done.
Your lucky colours are electric blue, electric white and multi-colours. (Um, isn’t that all colours, then?!)

September 23 - You were born an idealist. The combined influence of Venus and Mercury express these energies, particularly through the area of relationships. You need to understand the balance is the key to your development and spiritual growth - mainly in the realm of the mind. You are sensitive, artistic and need constant stimulation by communicating your ideas. Don't become an endless chatterbox just for the sake of others' approval (Yeah, son, stop chattering, alreadyl!) Carefully evaluate your situation before making decisions. Your lucky colour is green.

September 29 - You are hot headed and impulsive by nature, usually relying on your emotional and gut feelings rather than your better rational judgement. Though intuition is a handy tool, it can at times cause strife in the area of marriage, making your choices in partners very rash. (Should I be worried?!) Success after 38 will tone things down and bring more emotional repose. Your lucky colours are cream and white and green.

Anyway some fun facts thanks to Wikipedia –

On September 22nd: last witchcraft hanging in the US (1692); first airing of Friends (1994), Toni Basil was born in 1944 (Oh, Mickey!), Nick Cave was born, seed free, in 1957, Joan Jett and her black heart was born in 1958, Scott Baio was born in 1961 and Mystikal was born in 1975.

September 23rd, is a musical day, apparently: Bob Marley’s last concert was on this day in 1980 and these folks have Sept. 23 as a b-day - John Coltrane (1926), Ray Charles (1930), Julio Iglesias (1943), Bruce Springsteen (1949), and Ani DiFranco (1970).

September 29th is geek day, apparently (and appropriately): Enrico Fermi, the famous physicist (yes, famous!) was born in 1901, the convention establishing CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) is signed in 1954, the first Canadian satellite is launched in 1962, NASA resumes space shuttle flights, grounded after the Challenger disasterin in 1988, Nintendo released the Nintendo 64 in North America in 1996, Hurricane Juan makes landfall at Nova Scotia in 2003 (we were there for this, which is why I included it!).

And in other news . . .

My pirate name is:

Black Jenny Flint

Like anyone confronted with the harshness of robbery on the high seas, you can be pessimistic at times. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!

Happy Birthday Fringers! I hope y'all get what cha' got comin' to ya.

Here's what the quiz said about me: Like the famous Dread Pirate Roberts, you have a keen head for how to make a profit. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and brazilliance cannot be matched.

Say my name! Say my name!

Ditto to "Happy Birthday" to the Fringer family.
When I read about your being influenced by the vibrations of Uranus- I, of course, pronounced it "your anus" in my head. So, does this mean you're "up your ass" some of the time?
